About the Author…
So who is this guy you see in these pictures ??
I was born the capitol of Brazil, Brasilia. The son of a diplomat we traveled the world but I settled in Los Angeles and currently a citizen of Brazil and United States.
After College I jumped into the dot com frenzy and worked as a network systems administrator. Working on developing and installing some of the industries biggest infrastructures. Later specializing in multimedia management systems and large tape backup robots and related systems. I never stopped my childhood love affair with film and photography. Soon my passion for photography took hold over me again with the introduction of new digital cinema cameras in the industry. Quickly decided to make the transition from the cold machine rooms to getting behind the camera were I belonged.
My skills from the IT world carried me straight into Di and the new digital workflows being developed in the industry at the time. This work lead me to work with the emerging field of stereoscopic (3D) digital cinema. Under the masterful eye of 3D pioneer John Rupkalvis I helped create and develop a 3D single lens system for Phantom 65 camera. That lead to continued work in the stereoscopic field both as technology developer, camera operator, steadicam, DIT and stereographer.
The rest as they say is history. In the last couple years I have worked on 4 stereoscopic features, numerous smaller 3D projects, tests, music videos, commercials and 3D technology development. Working with many leading 3D production companies such as PACE, 21st Century 3D, Stereoscope Studios, Sweetwater, Evergreen, 3rive, Ridgeline Entertainment, Embassy Row, Discovery 3D, SkyUk and others.
In the 2D world, I have worked on numerous commercials, music videos, shorts, pilots and features. My passion for the art of storytelling has brought me to fall in love with moving the camera to tell a story. This lead to my introduction to steadicam operating. Learning this new craft over the last years has made me fall deeper in love with using the camera as a story telling tool.
2010 being a landmark year for stereoscopic productions has lead to non-stop work in the field. Further establishing myself working as a stereographer and operator. Highlights so far has been working on We are the world 3D (for Haiti relief), work for many Discovery 3D projects and working as stereographer and steadicam operator on the official FIFA World Cup 3D DVD . Completed the first 3D wildlife show in the heart of the Amazon rainforest for SkyTV UK. Culminating in working as the Stereographer on a $40 million feature called Shark Night 3D directed by David Ellis and photographed by Gary Capo.
In 2011 Pedro Joined the prestigious ranks of the Society of Camera operators.
Looking forward to continue to create exceptional 2D and 3D content in years to come!
